United Living appointed on L&Q’s major works investment programme

United Living Group, the provider of infrastructure, housing, and property services, is pleased to announce that it has been appointed by L&Q, the leading housing association, as part of its Major Works Investment Programme.

L&Q’s Major Works Investment Programme is the industry’s largest investment programme, worth almost £3 billion over 15 years. United Living Group will be delivering a combination of internals, externals, cyclical maintenance and more bespoke project work.

The Company will work closely alongside ten partners to improve the comfort, safety, and environmental performance of L&Q’s residential homes.

Beyond construction priorities, creating social value is vital to the partnership, with the programme encouraging social value commitments. These commitments include creating employment opportunities, supporting charitable initiatives, and implementing community projects. This aligns closely with United Living’s values of embedding sustainable approaches into key business decisions, and the Company is looking forward to giving back to the local community by investing in important community assets.

A contract signing ceremony was held last month with L&Q and all its new contractor partners, to mark the occasion.

Mark Newstead, Director of Major Works at L&Q said, “We’re delighted to confirm that ten fantastic like-minded partners are joining us for the next stage of our major works investment programme. Each shares our commitment to quality and excellence, whilst creating a positive impact on the communities where we work.”

Simon Will, Managing Director, United Living Property Services, commented: “We are delighted to be chosen as one of ten partners for L&Q’s Major Works Investment Programme. United Living Group is pleased to continue to be chosen as a trusted delivery partner for some of the UK’s biggest landlords.

This major contract will see us operate in the ‘East – Northeast’ area to improve and maintain homes across Essex.  Collaboration is critical to driving success in the partnership, and United Living is looking forward to working closely together with the other partners to deliver major improvements to residents’ homes.

“We are also pleased that this programme aligns so closely with United Living’s ESG framework. The commitment to generating social value is crucial to not only this project, but every aspect of our work. We are looking forward to seeing how we can advance our commitment to people, the environment, and communities throughout the programme.”
